Psalms 20
Subject - We have before us a National Anthem fitted to, be sung at the outbreak of war, when the monarch was girding on his sword for the fight. If David had not been vexed with wars, we might never have been favoured with such Psalms as this.

His sword may have been hacked, but it was never rusted.

I want to say this psalm for me is great assurance as war is breaking out against me and my house, it has been going on a long time, four plus years of poverty, living hand to mouth, I have just lost the last thing I could lose, I have nothing left, nothing. I ended several things, the bible ministry school, no one enrolled even after 75% cut in the cost, the skype pastor 500 hits not one person, it just goes on and on, living hand to mouth, but this is war. I am in war, and a holding place, I have never been in years of wondering, learning, brokenness, poverty to this degree, never. A month was the norm, but 4 plus years, I have broken several times, as I am as I write.

I have thoughts daily of just stopping the whole internet ministry , soon it will be a must, I do not know how long I will have internet access only the lord, I have fought the good fight I have finished my course, I have stood firm and humble. No secret sin in this camp. The lord chastises those he loves, those that are bruised the most are used the most. I have 100% trust in the lord. Over 100,000 hits on all the sites in less than a year, this site grows every day, and yet I do stand alone as the lord said I would the closer things get. The outpouring of His spirit, his grace, love have kept me. In one year now 4 people out of 100,000 have given a free will love offering, that is something I simply do not understand. I have declared the whole counsel of the lord. I honestly need prayer I have just lost everything, I do not even know where I will be in a month, I do know I will be in the lord’s presence and he will keep me alive, or I will be promoted to glory soon, I feel its coming to that point. Paul faced the same he faced it all, he even despaired of life its self, that’s me, and for good cause.

Each post now could be my last, I am in famine, and tribulation I am facing homelessness,(Ayin Bet For Me) and this is all true. I will keep up the fight in the lord and accept the fact his saints that are fed hear must be in the same situation, I need your help. I have asked 3 times before, each time one person helped. I have kept all my books and music free, had a free school and many other things over the last year on this, my main ministry site. I hope this post encourages someone, It has me, and today I can say, the lord is faithful, we are purged for a purpose, we do not always understand why, that matters not, just simple submission, and trust.

Henry:

Psalms 20:1-5

This prayer for David is entitled a psalm of David; nor was it any absurdity at all for him who was divinely inspired to draw up a directory, or form of prayer, to be used in the congregation for himself and those in authority under him; nay it is very proper for those who desire the prayers of their friends to tell them particularly what they would have to be asked of God for them. Note, Even great and good men, and those that know ever so well how to pray for themselves, must not despise, but earnestly desire, the prayers of others for them, even those that are their inferiors in all respects. Paul often begged of his friends to pray for him. Magistrates and those in power ought to esteem and encourage praying people, to reckon them their strength (Zec_12:5, Zec_12:10), and to do what they can for them, that they may have an interest in their prayers and may do nothing to forfeit it. Now observe here,

1. That God would answer his prayers: The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble (Psa_20:1), and the Lord fulfil all thy petitions, Psa_20:5. Note, (1.) Even the greatest of men may be much in trouble. It was often a day of trouble with David himself, of disappointment and distress, of treading down and of perplexity. Neither the crown on his head nor the grace in his heart would exempt him from the trouble. (2.) Even the greatest of men must be much in prayer. David, though a man of business, a man of war, was constant to his devotions; though he had prophets, and priests, and many good people among his subjects, to pray for him, he did not think that excused him from praying for himself. Let none expect benefit by the prayers of the church, or of their ministers or friends for them, who are capable of praying for themselves, and yet neglect it. The prayers of others for us must be desired, not to supersede, but to second, our own for ourselves. Happy the people that have praying princes, to whose prayers they may thus say, Amen.

Pro_18:10, The name of the Lord is a strong tower, into which the righteous run by faith, and are safe; let David be enabled to shelter himself in that strong tower, as he has done many a time.”

That God would testify his gracious acceptance of the sacrifices he offered with his prayers, according to the law of that time, before he went out on a dangerous expedition: The Lord remember all thy offerings and accept thy burnt-sacrifices (Psa_20:3), or turn them to ashes; that is, “The Lord give thee the victory and success which thou didst by prayer with sacrifices ask of him, and thereby give as full proof of his acceptance of the sacrifice as ever he did by kindling it with fire from heaven.” By this we may now know that God accepts our spiritual sacrifices, if by his Spirit he kindles in our souls a holy fire of pious and divine affection and with that makes our hearts burn within us.

That God would crown all his enterprises and noble designs for the public welfare with the desired success (Psa_20:4): The Lord grant thee according to thy own heart. This they might in faith pray for, because they knew David was a man after God's own heart, and would design nothing but what was pleasing to him. Those who make it their business to glorify God may expect that God will, in one way or other, gratify them: and those who walk in his counsel may promise themselves that he will fulfil theirs. Thou shalt devise a thing and it shall be established unto thee.

What confidence they had of an answer of peace to these petitions for themselves and their good king (Psa_20:5): “We will rejoice in thy salvation. We that are subjects will rejoice in the preservation and prosperity of our prince;” or, rather, “In thy salvation, O God! in thy power and promise to save, will we rejoice; that is it which we depend upon now, and which, in the issue, we shall have occasion greatly to rejoice in.” Those that have their eye still upon the salvation of the Lord shall have their hearts filled with the joy of that salvation: In the name of our God will we set up our banners. 1. “We will wage war in his name; we will see that our cause be good and make his glory our end in every expedition; we will ask counsel at his mouth, and take him along with us; we will follow his direction, implore his aid and depend upon it, and refer the issue to him.” David went against Goliath in the name of the Lord of hosts, 1Sa_17:45. (2.) “We will celebrate our victories in his name. When we lift up our banners in triumph, and set up our trophies, it shall be in the name of our God; he shall have all the glory of our success, and no instrument shall have any part of the honour that is due to him.”

We are in the height of Wars and rumors of war< will it be Syria, Iran, N.Koria, Russia, China, mulit-nations, whatever, it’s the birth pains and we are not to fear.

It takes the lord not to lose whatever , and it takes the lord not to lose what we have, and are as a nation, we will lose any big conflict fact, planes will fall from the sky, the biggest super power when under judgment can me taken out by only a few, as we read in all the O.T. prophets.

The pride and sin of America has found us out, the innocent blood shed, you name it USA war INC is it.  No election will help; they are all on the same side. If the lord does not watch the city, the watchmen watch in vain, that is where we are at.

So many events have been going on in June as I suspected, but they are what I call unseen events, laws passed, closed door secret meetings, spiritual warfare, and on. What happens many time happens in the spirit realm first, there is war on earth between good and evil, the Christian and demons, and this battle gets stronger everyday.

We have this great psalm as I use Ps. a lot, because they are so rich in comfort and hope, and prophetic. I read Ps. Everyday, of late, it is 90% of my study, it is good to read a lot of psalms in hard times. I read so much of the prophetic in the psalms and that is a new eschatology study in it’s self.

What power, praise, and trust we read. The key word I have been seeing as I read psalms is always trust, over and over and over, I would give the book a subtitle to book of trust.

Being that seems to be the key word, you can see why I advise all read this book everyday, we all need to build up as much trust and faith muscles in these days, and this is the book. Like all the bible it takes faith and trust in what we are reading, as well as rightly dividing as always, so we get the correct understanding of what each one is and what it says.

Verse 6 and 7 really minister,

Psa 20:6  Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

Psa 20:7  Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

Do not be waiting for the U.S. Calvary to come and save you, but look to the cross on Calvary amen
