We Are Covered, Reads Like Today’s Headlines, But Read What Comes Next, A Word Of Encouragement And Hope

Psa 60:2  Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.

Psa 60:3  Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.

Vs. 2 Reads like today’s headlines, with all the ongoing Earthquakes, Volcano’s, wars, The birth Pains, The earth is shacking, it is broken.

These are hard days we are being shown HARD THINGS.

We can all agree these are the days we live in. These are indeed hard days and hard things we are being shown and told.

But wait, while all this is true if we read on, read what David says right after these things that are true and hard, we next have some things that are true and of great encouragement.

Psa 60:4  Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.

JFB;

Psalms 60:4-5

Yet to God’s banner they will rally, and pray that, led and sustained by His power (right hand, Psa_17:7; Psa_20:6), they may be safe.

K&D:

Psa_60:4, as the foundation of the prayer which follows: Thou hast given those who fear Thee a banner to muster themselves (sich aufpanieren), i.e., to raise themselves as around a standard or like a standard, on account of the truth - help then, in order that Thy beloved ones may be delivered, with Thy right hand, and answer me.

We are given a banner, one of the lords names is Jehovah Nissin, the lord our banner, not a national flag, not a king, or man, but the lords banner of truth. The lord’s truth, his word and promises are given and we raise this banner given to us in time of trouble.

It is not a white flag as a military surrender, but a white flag that we surrender to our lord, who by truth, by his banner our sign covers, it sustains and it is visible, it is our rally point. We rally in corporate prayer; we rally to the aid of Christians in prayer, help, comfort and encouragement.

Psa 60:5  That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.

The right-hand signifies, authority and strength, our lord’s right hand, the strongest hand in all the universe comes to help, no better hand to be in, or look to.

Psa 60:11  Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

Psa 60:12  Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

In the last message I spoke at length on not looking to man, again we are told, vain is the help of man, meaning non believers and armies. The lord himself and by fellow true Christians, his vessels we are given help from trouble. While all that can be shaken is being shaken, it is the lords might and power that is what we are to look to.

When there is no one else around, when we have no one to talk to, or help us, we can always come to Jesus and what a mighty help He is, he will never leave is nor forsake us, never. Dear reader if you are alone, do as King David did, Encourage yourself in the lord.

We will not only be helped, we will be enabled, to do what? Through our lord we shall do valiantly, seems odd in such hard times, and the hard times ahead we will be able to do valiant acts.

We find the same thing concerning the last days in Daniels word given, in the end we shall strong and do exploits, now we have the ability to be valiant warriors for the lord, to do great exploits, it is not a closing down of activity, but an increase in powerful activity due to the lords right hand and the power of the holy spirit.

Gideon was so afraid of the enemy, he was in a wine press with some of the wheat harvest hiding, than showed up the angel and said , thou mighty man of valor.

Many in fear are hiding things, locations, not speaking truth in fear, yet you are called a mighty man and women of valor, and while the enemy has the upper hand.

The lord told through Moses to Joshua, be strong and courageous, all these things are cross references to this very same word were given hear.

The enemy may seem to strong, our problems may seem like mountains that can not move, giants that can not be taken down, but it’s a lie of the devil, we have the ability, by our lord to be full of faith, trust and power to be valiant, overcome’ers, doing great exploits right in the middle of all this hell and the hell on earth coming.

In the next Ch Ps 61 the same word continues, remember, the original Hebrew and Greek we not broken up in chapter and verse’s as we now have it, so this continues with more comfort, truth and hope.

Psa 61:1  To the chief Musician upon Neginah, A Psalm of David. Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.

Psa 61:2  From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Psa 61:3  For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

Psa 61:4  I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.

What great promises, Jesus is the rock we are to build on, not the sand of disbelief, or carnality, Jesus said, " the man that built his house on a rock, when the rain and great winds came it did not fall but stood. We are to be on the solid rock, the storms now and coming are what our lord meant, life. And life can, and does throw, many things are way, so we cry out to the lord, he hears, he moves, an we are safe.

He is our shelter from the storm, he is our strong tower from all enemies, and he has us covered in the tabernacle of his presence and under HIS wings. What promises we read that followed what read like today’s news, this says no matter what, we are covered, we are valiant warriors and we indeed will be strong and do exploits, right in the presence of our enemies.

Read the word in context and you will always find the hope for the true believer, we can stand on these promises and the lord’s faithful covering of us in the storms we are in and the ones coming.
