Wisdom Is Calling Out, Do You Hear?

Pro 8:6  Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.

Pro 8:7  For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

Pro 8:8  All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.

Pro 8:9  They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.

Pro 8:10  Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.

Pro 8:11  For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

Vs 6 I will speak, this means wisdom will speak, wisdom it's self.

In the Hebrew Excellent things means;

נגד    נגיד
nâ̂yd  nâgid
naw-gheed', naw-gheed'
From H5046; a commander (as occupying the front), civil, military or religious; generally (abstract plural), honorable themes: - captain, chief, excellent thing, (chief) governor, leader, noble, prince, (chief) ruler.

This is a military word, as the Apostle Paul uses many military words; this is because our Christian walk is a battle.

Wisdom comes from the lord and it; he, is our commander in chief.

People sometimes get confused over knowledge and wisdom, Wisdom is knowledge applied, it is that simple.

We can have all the bible knowledge in the world, but may lack wisdom on how to apply it and so we stay stagnant and have no victory in our life.

We may lack wisdom, but the N.T. clearly teaches all we need to do is ask in faith.

Jas 1:5  If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Jas 1:6  But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Jas 1:7  For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

Jas 1:8  A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Webster defines Wisdom as follows;

WISDOM, n. s as z. [G. See Wise.]

1. The right use or exercise of knowledge; the choice of laudable ends, and of the best means to accomplish them. This is wisdom in act, effect, or practice.

If wisdom is to be considered as a faculty of the mind, it is the faculty of discerning or judging what is most just, proper and useful, and if it is to be considered as an acquirement, it is the knowledge and use of what is best, most just, most proper, most conducive to prosperity or happiness.

Wisdom in the first sense, or practical wisdom, is nearly synonymous with discretion. I differs somewhat from prudence, in this respect; prudence is the exercise of sound judgment in avoiding evils; wisdom is the exercise of sound judgment either in avoiding evils or attempting good.
Prudence then is a species, of which wisdom is the genus.

Wisdom gained by experience, is of inestimable value.

Wisdom comes, as Webster said, also from experience, you touch an open flame as a child, or a hot iron and the child does not do that again, it is that simple and it is how we gain wisdom from experience, we learn more from our mistakes than we do our victories.

Wisdom is more precious than rubies, and gold. We read in the first ch of Proverbs the fear of the lord is the begging of knowledge, so we start with knowledge, it moves from our head to our heart, that long seventeen inch journey. It is applied and we have more success and we are more pleasing to the lord, the giver and author of wisdom.

In proverbs we read much on the wise person and the fool, the many contrasts, I love the book of Proverbs it is a true blessing. I used to avoid it, because I felt so unworthy, maybe that is you today.

It should be read as we get a great amount of practical lessons in it.

The book of Psalms my favorite, we get spiritual lessons, and we get so many promises and comfort, Proverbs is a convicting book to say the least, but it must be confronted so we can learn to apply what we are learning into a heart full of wisdom.

Wisdom cry’s out in the streets, do you hear her voice, wisdom cry’s out not that way, this way, you have tried that before you know the outcome.

We have all heard that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result, this is not the true definition, but who ever came up with it, was wise indeed.

How many times have you tried the same thing and had the same outcome. Many women who were in an abusive relationship, go on and meet another bad boy and expect a different out come, this is insanity.

How we need wisdom today and in the days coming. James said all we have to do is ask, in faith and we will get the wisdom needed for a given situation.

In context this portion of scripture means, not a blanket wisdom meaning covering everything in your life, but asking wisdom concerning a certain matter, so each time we have to make a decision we must go back to the promise found in James and ask for in faith wisdom concerning the next matter, the next decision.

Dear reader wisdom still cry’s out in the streets, she lifts up her voice in the market place, to the heart, do you hear wisdom calling out to you?
Think on this.
