1Co 3:21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;
1Co 3:22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas ( Peter), or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;
Without getting into numerology, as I do not, we know from the bible the number 7 means, complete, perfect. You know this, thus in Vrs. 22 we have a very odd insight to 7 words, the word, OR. And the 7 or-s listed are as such, perfect, complete to show us, all things are ours. The verse says "....all are yours"
what is ours? All things. Wait, that is a little much with all we are going through, certainly we are talking only in a spiritual way, or in glory correct? Well.......yes and a big no.
Things present and things to come. A good CR on the same truth is in;
2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
We are given all things, life, this is now, as well as godliness for we will be such in glory.
The 7 or-s, the perfection of the 7 are not the 7 by them-self, but all of them together, thus 7 is complete.
It sounds like a very similar list, and this list, in context, has the same truth yet again.
Rom 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
We are given all things, again. the list;
Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril,(Danger) or sword?
A list of the perfect 7 again, this 7 grounds us, it shows us this is no name it and claim it gospel, these 7 are hard, but the next 7 give hope in all the hard 7.
Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
I hope TPTB are reading that one....Nor Powers LOL.
7 again, in context the last verse adds more so its more than 7, but broken in 7's we see a pattern, the last verse;
Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The message is simply this. We are complete in Jesus, we are given all things by the lord, all things are ours , the problem I think is we do not use them right, or in a bible way. James gives and insight to this truth of why, maybe we are in lack, I do not speak of just silver and gold, I speak of all things, all 7 all in complete order keeps things balanced and in order.
Jas 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
Jas 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, (wrong)that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
Correct, asking, this is asking according to the lords will, if so, we are told we shall have these things, whatever they are, but the lords will, he would not will something for us that would not be good for us. Chastening according to the bible is good for us.
1Jn 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
1Jn 5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
Ok, so we have a lot of bible on this, and all correct in context, after all, all things are yours. This is the key, part of the perfection of our lord, part of all things include things that are hard, chastening, trial, tribulation, poverty, sickness, but also healing, needs met, all good, and perfect gift's comes down from God, and all things work out for the good...all things, hay, a couple more came to mind.
The whole bible life, the whole pitcher includes all of these things, after all... all things are ours like it or not.
The comfort we get when going through something is the standard verse, all things work out for the, our good...and they do.
Our lord is perfect, he us just, he knows what he is doing. He is allowing all things to come to pass that are, it is his will, and we as true Christians can have peace, joy and power in such times. Or?...............7
