Spurgeon's Devotion-The Love Of Christ For Us, The Love Of God For Christ- We Are Loved-And A Look At True Biblical Faith

“As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you.”
- Joh_15:9

As the Father loves the Son, in the same manner Jesus loves his people. What is that divine method? He loved him without beginning, and thus Jesus loves his members. “I have loved thee with an everlasting love.” You can trace the beginning of human affection; you can easily find the beginning of your love to Christ, but his love to us is a stream whose source is hidden in eternity. God the Father loves Jesus without any change. Christian, take this for your comfort, that there is no change in Jesus Christ’s love to those who rest in him.

Yesterday you were on Tabor’s top, and you said, “He loves me:” to-day you are in the valley of humiliation, but he loves you still the same.

 On the hill Mizar, and among the Hermons, you heard his voice, which spake so sweetly with the turtle-notes of love; and now on the sea, or even in the sea, when all his waves and billows go over you; his heart is faithful to his ancient choice.

The Father loves the Son without any end, and thus does the Son love his people. Saint, thou needest not fear the loosing of the silver cord, for his love for thee will never cease. Rest confident that even down to the grave Christ will go with you, and that up again from it he will be your guide to the celestial hills. Moreover, the Father loves the Son without any measure, and the same immeasurable love the Son bestows upon his chosen ones.

The whole heart of Christ is dedicated to his people. He “loved us and gave himself for us.” His is a love which passeth knowledge. Ah! we have indeed an immutable Saviour, a precious Saviour, one who loves without measure, without change, without beginning, and without end, even as the Father loves him! There is much food here for those who know how to digest it. May the Holy Ghost lead us into its marrow and fatness!

Reader I want to give the true Bride of Christ a word of encouragement, the message is on love, and bible faith, not sloppy agape, not a shallow love Gospel, but the love of the lord for us, as God is love. WE must not let pillow prophets, and post modern ministers steal the truths from us.

This has been taught to me so many times. I talk of the Gospel Diamond. It has many facets, it has no color, but the sun rays hit it at angles and the full spectrum of color shows, like a prism.

One side-Facet- of this Gospel Diamond is Faith, another love, another Truth, and another Judgment, and another security and another falling away, holiness and more.

As the devotion said;

There is much food here for those who know how to digest it.

Love, the truth of it is so deep we will never fully grasp it. I have seen an attack by the Devil and his false ministers, false doctrine, they take one facet and abuse it and than we feel odd when we stand on something, because a promise , a truth, has been so abused you feel you can not stand on it or claim it. You see this is the enemy trying to steal the full Gospel Diamond truths with all its glory from the light of the lord to become dull, colorless. This happens; many do not even know it, truths being snatched away due to false teaching based on a Gospel truth. Love, thanks to the post modern camp, they make it so if your in sound doctrine it twists what is rightly a truth for us. Faith, the word of faith camp steals faith verses, promises, and so if your sound doctrine you struggle with using the same truth that is part of the Gospel diamond.

You can rightly divide the word and read in context to get the real truth, but love, faith, hope, are the brides heritage and let it not be stolen. Hyper faith, NO, but biblical faith YES.

Let me give an example of what I mean by twisted truth. Faith to move mountains, you hear them say, speak to that mountain, that thing, have faith, believe and you will have it by faith, using these verse, but in context this is not what this means;

Luk 17:6  And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

This verse does not mean what the faith teachers say it means, we find what it means by reading the verses before it;

Luk 17:4  And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

Luk 17:5  And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.

It is on faith, true, they asked to have their faith increased, but the faith asked for, was in response to what Jesus said first;

Luk 17:4  And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

In Matthew we read it as 70 times 7, meaning forgiveness and more than one could do in their own power. The lesson in context on faith, is, it takes extraordinary mountain moving faith to be able to forgive over and over, and over. It is not what the flesh can do; it takes mountain moving faith to be able to forgive as Christ did.

There are other promises that mean the opposite;

Mat 21:21  Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

Mat 21:22  And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Faith; this is part of the Gospel Diamond. Do not let those who abuse and twist the promises and give nothing but teaching after teaching on one subject and for personal gain. We must have faith to receive.

Heb 11:6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

So we see biblical faith is an imperative. It is not for self gain, and it must be for the lord, his service, our daily needs are covered in Matt ch 6, so we do not worry about the needed things to survive.

Many take a concordance, look up the word Faith, and do teachings on a select verse out of context to keep the error going by many verses; this is how the enemy works. There is, in context requirements that show us what biblical faith is.

1.Jas 4:2  Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

Jas 4:3  Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

This shows Biblical faith is something we must pray for, the right things, the lords will, if not, and we are praying for a BMW and a gold watch, a bigger house, it will become a snare as we see by many. Crefflo Dollar example, pleading for people to give so he can get a top of the line personal Jet. This was just spoken of .That is to consume on your own lusts and asking amiss, asking in the wrong way, for the wrong thing.

2. We must pray and receive, but it must be the lords will.

1Jn 5:14  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

1Jn 5:15  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Praying the will of our lord is a must, not our will, His will, not what we want, but what He wants, if so, we will have our prayers answered in faith. This is very important in Biblical Faith.

3. Love as the devotion spoke of is imperative, forgiveness as shown in Luke.

1Jn 3:15  Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

This love is faith; we are instructed not to love things or deeds of this world, but love.

1Jn 3:17  But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

1Jn 3:18  My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

1Jn 3:19  And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

We are to love the lord, our fellowman, especially those of the house of faith as Paul said.
We are to give, if we can, when we see one of the members of the true body of Christ in need, so giving is an act of love, helping, and sacrificial giving. This is love, this is faith.
Jesus said in response to when the disciples asked, " How did we minister unto you".
Jesus said," When you gave drink, when you clothed, feed, what you do unto the least you have done unto me". That is profound, it is faith, love, and love is giving, ministering in love not grudgingly, if so we lose our blessing.

May all learn this divine love, its depth, Faith, hope, and love, but love is greatest. The faith, the hope, the love, are all part of the Gospel diamond, do not let the enemy steal any of the facets of the glorious Gospel Diamond promises, and instruction, so we can shine for our lord as he shines in  us.
