2Ch 29:1 Hezekiah began to reign when he was five and twenty years old; and he reigned nine and twenty years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah.
2Ch 29:2 And he did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that David his father had done.
2Ch 29:3 He in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of Jehovah, and repaired them.
2Ch 29:4 And he brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them together into the broad place on the east,
2Ch 29:5 and said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites; now sanctify yourselves, and sanctify the house of Jehovah, the God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place.
2Ch 29:6 For our fathers have trespassed, and done that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah our God, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of Jehovah, and turned their backs.

The lamp was never , ever to go out, it was to be trimmed, oil put in and it was to keep burning, a holy lamp, a holy light, a holy thing, and closing of the porch, like closing a church or ministry due to negligence and sin as our text shows.
Vrs 11, the remedy , the instruction.
2Ch 29:11 My sons, be not now negligent; for Jehovah hath chosen you to stand before him, to minister unto him, and that ye should be his ministers,.....
We are not to be negligent and let the holy fier, the light should shine 24/7, in our day and age it is hared to find any true light,m any true ministry in most Churches and most ministries. No one is
exempt from times of spiritual dryness, Paul told Timothy, fan into a flame the amber's , the coal into a holy flame.
It is far to late in the things to come to neglect the lords ways, we must all examine our heart, and trim the lamp.
The N.T. Is filled with such examples.
Saints of the lord , arise and shine, arise and shine, stir up that holy flame, let us never hide the light under a bushel, but set the light of Jesus on a hill for all men to see.
May this be so with all of us today.
