Chocking On The Bread Pt One From 2011 And Pt Two 2012 Re Post

Chocking On The Bread

http://truthandmercyministries.blogspot.com/2011/02/chocking-on-bread.html

1Co 11:23

For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

1Co 11:24

And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

1Co 11:25

After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

1Co 11:26

For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

1Co 11:27

Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

1Co 11:28

But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

1Co 11:29

For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.

1Co 11:30

For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

1Co 11:31

For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

1Co 11:32

But, when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

This is one of the most serious and profound posts and messages God has given me to date, it is urgent and please read it all.

In My travels as an Evangelist and a asst Pastor SR Pastor, and attending many, many churches, I noticed something extreme is happening and many are not even aware of it.

First I noticed in every church I have been in ,aside from a very few ,in the past 20 years are taking communion is a fast and legalistic manner.I also noticed many are sick, weak, and are even now dead.I thought, well, the additives in our food, GMO foods, water impurities, smog, and junk food, do not help, smoking, drinking, over eating, so I Just assumed it was the cause of all the sickness, illness and death I have heard of, and seen.

God spoke to me with his mighty hand on me and clarified what a Major problem this is and why so many are weak and sick in our Churches, I never would have thought of this Communion issue, as mostcommunion services are the first Sunday of the month, it is done at the end of the service, and it is done in a fast manner, God said this is the problem.

The Christan is to properly discern the body, of Christ, separate normal food from the elements. We are to take time to examine our hearts, reflect, repent and it can not be done in a fast food manner. We can not say, would you like some fries with that LOL.

The title is due to this, I was taking communion in a Church and It was being done so fast, by the time we were to drink the juice I literally chocked on the unleavened bread cracker, it can be sharp and takes a while to dissolve, and so it should be.

I think back on what a communion service used to be in the churches I attended years ago.

1. The whole service was surrounded around the communion theme, from a convicting sermon and a time of worship and reflection.
One great service I attended at S.Attleboro Assemble of God,in the 80's (to date still one of the best communion services I ever attended.)
After the sermon, the elements were handed out, We held the elements and sang a good 30 min. than slowly we took the bread, everyone was in quite repentance and self examination, the juice was not taken till another good 10 min. latter, as to give everyone the time to reflect on the broken body of Christ and just what it meant. Needless to say back than I never chocked on the bread. We sang more and rejoiced for the body broken for us, people were kneeling all over, and after 10 min or so, we took the juice and again reflected for a good while and we ended with a hymn and praise.

Beloved, this is what Paul is talking about and the Church is guilty of, taking the body of Christ in an unworthy manner, and hence, many are weak and sick due to this, Paul said it, not me.

Oh, how we need to return to this proper mode of communion, how we need to take time with each element and judge ourselves, so we can receive healing. If taken properly, you can be healed during proper communion.

Our fast paced, rituals have left us in a state of spiritual starvation,. legalism, illness and death , we must return to the way it was, slow down, discern what you are taking, meditate, judge yourself, that you will not be judged, and the result, more healing, less weakness, illness and death will not take place, before it's time.

We all need to repent and take the communion service more serious, to not discern the Lords body and chocking on the bread must change. May it start in your church today.

Note. We are to die daily, examine ourselves daily, see if we are in the Faith, pray and not just on communion service once a month, once that is restored, it is a daily death and resurrection we need and there are no short cuts.

The next time you take Communion in Church, see if what the Lord is saying is correct, are you chocking on the bread or are you walking in healing, restored and living in victory. God says, start now and you will see many healed, continue on in fast food communion and continue to become weak, Ill and even a early death.

Pt two;

Barnes Commentary says it all.

1 Corinthians 11:28But let a man examine himself - Let him search and see if he have the proper
qualifications - if he has knowledge to discern the Lord’s body (note, 1Co_11:29); if he has true repentance for his sins; true faith in the Lord Jesus; and a sincere desire to live the life of a Christian, and to be like the Son of God, and be saved by the merits of his blood.
Let him examine himself, and see whether he have the right feelings of a communicant,
and can approach the table in a proper manner. In regard to this we may observe:

(1) That this examination should include the great question about his personal piety, and about his particular and special fitness for this observance. It should go back into the great inquiry whether
he has ever been born again; and it should also have special reference to his immediate
and direct preparation for the ordinance. He should not only be able to say in general that he is a
Christian, but he should be able to say that he has then a particular preparation for it. He should be in a suitable frame of mind for it. He should have personal evidence that he is a
penitent; that he has true faith in the Lord Jesus; that he is depending on him, and is desirous of being saved by him.

(2) this examination should be minute and particular. It should extend to the words, the thoughts, the feelings, the conduct. We should inquire whether in our family and in our business; whether among Christians, and with the world, we have lived the life of a Christian. We should examine our private thoughts; our habits of secret prayer and of searching the Scriptures. Our examination should be directed to the inquiry whether we are gaining the victory over our easily besetting sins and becoming more and more conformed to the Savior. It should, in short, extend to all our Christian character; and everything which goes to make up or to mar that character should be the subject of faithful and honest examination.

(3) it should be done because:(a) It is well to pause occasionally in life, and take an account of our standing in the sight of God. People make advances in business and in property only when they
often examine their accounts, and know just how they stand,(b) Because the observance
of the Lord’s Supper is a solemn act, and there will be fearful results if it is celebrated in an improper manner.

 (e) Because the approach to the table of the Lord is a solemn approach to the Lord himself; is a solemn profession of attachment to him; is an act of consecration to his service in the presence of angels and of people; and this should be done in a calm, deliberate and sincere manner; such a manner as may be the result of a prayerful and honest self-examination.
And so let him eat ... - And as the result of such examination, or after such an examination;
that is, let the act of eating that bread always be preceded by a solemn self-examination.
Bloomfield renders it, “and then, only then.” The sense is plain, that the communion should always be preceded by an honest and prayerful self-examination.

Please NOTE: I once had a person email me and say I was talking about, over worshiping the communion service, making to much of it, let me be clear, Communion, like water baptism are symbols. Communion is a symbol and not the actual blood and body of Christ, it is not magical. My message is one of repentance, holiness, self examination. These are missing now days. Communion has always been throughout Church history a time of reflection, self examination and weeping, repenting. I am telling you, that is why the People were getting sick and dying an early death, not because they took wine and bread fast, because they did not examine their hearts and took this institution Jesus told us to do until He comes back in a lite and meaningless way, it was just like the 3erd course of a 3 course meal, they did not separate the food from the elements in spirit, they did not stop, repent, examine their hearts, just a swallow and a gulp, and this is what many communion services have become. Fast food legalism, the lord is not pleased with this.

I end with a simple outline of what the context of Ch 11 is from Barnes:

1 Corinthians 11

The first verse in this chapter properly belongs to the preceding, and is the conclusion of the discussion which the apostle had been carrying on in that and the previous chapters. It has been improperly separated from that chapter, and in reading should be read in connection with it. The remainder of the chapter is properly divided into two parts:

I.    A discussion respecting the impropriety of a woman’s praying or prophesying with her head uncovered 1Co_11:2-16; and,

II.    A reproof of their irregularities in the observance of the Lord’s Supper, 1Co. 11:17-34.

I. In regard to the first. it seems probable that some of the women who, on pretence of being inspired, had prayed or prophesied in the Corinthian church, had cast off their veils after the manner of the pagan priestesses. This indecent and improper custom the apostle reproves. He observes, therefore, that the pre-eminence belongs to man over the woman, even as pre-eminence belonged to Christ over the man; that it was a dishonor to Christ when a man prayed or prophesied with his head covered, and in like manner it was regarded everywhere as dishonorable and improper for a woman to lay aside the appropriate symbol of her sex, and the emblem of subordination, and to be uncovered in the presence of the man 1Co_11:3-5; that if a woman was not veiled, if she laid aside the appropriate emblem of her sex and of her subordinate condition, she might as well part with her hair, which all knew would be dishonorable and improper 1Co_11:6; that the woman had been created for a subordinate station, and should observe it 1Co_11:7-9; that she should have power on her head because of the angels (1Co_11:10; and yet, lest this should depress her, and seem to convey the idea of her utter inferiority and unimportance, he adds, that in the plan of salvation they are in many respects on an equality with the man, that the same plan was adapted to both, that the same blessings are appointed for both sexes, and the same high hopes are held out to both 1Co_11:11-12; and that nature on this subject was a good instructor, and showed that it was uncomely for a woman to pray with her head uncovered, that her hair had been given her for an ornament and for beauty, and that, as it would be as improper for her to remove her veil as to cut off her hair, nature itself required that this symbol of her subordination should be laid aside in public, 1Co_11:13-16.

II. Next, as to the irregularities in the observance of the Lord’s supper, the apostle observes 1Co_11:17, that he could not commend them for what he was about to say. There had been and there were irregularities among them, which it was his duty to reprove. In 1Co_11:18-22, he states what those irregularities were. He then 1Co_11:23-26 states the true nature and design of the Lord’s Supper, as it was very evident that they had not understood it, but supposed it was a common feast, such as they had been accustomed to observe in honor of idols. In 1Co_11:27-29, he states the consequences of observing this ordinance in an improper manner, and the proper way of approaching it; and in 1Co_11:30-32 observes that their improper mode of observing it was the cause of the punishment which many of them had experienced. He then concludes by directing them to celebrate the Lord’s Supper “together;” to eat at home when they were hungry; and not to abuse the Lord’s Supper by making it an occasion of feasting; and assures them that the other matters of irregularity he would set in order when be should come among them.
