One Of The Hardest Things The Bible Teaches-Not What You Think.

Mat 5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Mat 5:40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.

Mat 5:41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

Mat 5:42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

Mat 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Mat 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Mat 5:46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

Mat 5:47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

Mat 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect ( Complete), even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

From G473 and G2476; to stand against, that is, oppose: - resist, withstand.

Well that does it for anyone who goes out to a protest, we are not to do this. The old tea party and other freedom of speech protests, while its our constitutional right, it is not our biblical right. This is one of the hardest things in the bible, to love your enemy, and bless that person, you have got to be kidding, certainly this is not what it means in the Greek.......... sorry it's all in the Greek, as I showed only one part.

What about Freedom of Speech, we have this in our constitution and its a great thing, it is already taken away from us by Free speech zones, and the 300 mile perimeter around the USA- a not safe zone.

Tyranny is king of the day, deep inside we all want to protest and yell out against this evil, but Jesus was ministering in a police state, under Roman occupation and that means a lot.

Turn the other cheek when you are hit, what about self defense?

Do you see why I say this is one of the hardest parts of the bible.

When you read the sermon on the mount, our lord was explaining what the law really meant, and not as the Pharisees were teaching.

Remember Judas was a zealot, they were a movement that committed crimes, set things on fire and were doing gorilla warfare against Rome, once Judas learned why Jesus came, and the Messiah they were looking for was the messiah Jesus that rules and reigns a 1000 years, they wanted nothing to do with this passive messiah they wanted a King, the Jews always wanted a king. Samuel the prophet-Judge, said concerning the want for a king, how much tyranny would come with it, but they did not care, and the first king was Saul.
What might have been could be inscribed on his tomb and many other historic figures.

I have heard Steve Q and others literally pray, and say, rain down fire on the certain people, the disciples said the same thing, and Jesus rebuked them and said 'you know not what spirit you are of', that means the devil, it is considered evil to wish that, and call for our lord to reign fire down on tyranny.

I understand, I get it, in my heart I have wished for such things, but I had to repent as the bible teaches passivity and suffering, and this beloved, is the hardest thing for many of us to obey.

Think on this, it's a lot of meat in a short message, but pray. Do not go where there are protests, not now days, you may be doing your last act in this life.

love your enemy, turn the other cheek and just obey, I know this is very hard, and at times I have blown it, I am a radical, when I see innocent ones dealt with harsh, wrong, loss of freedoms, I have acted out, but this is the school of Christ, I repent of this, and now I move on, reader do the same, and 'the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus'.
