I was watching this sermon, 1 hour 33 min.
In this sermon I must have heard every 5 min something I have found in short clips, sermon compilations and such.
Today most can not listen to a sermon that is one hour. On sermon index you can hear sermons that are two hours long. In most churches you get a 20 min message, in a church that is alive maybe 45 min tops.
In the N.T. we read many times how our lord ministered all day and night, Paul taught till the sunrise, in the process a young lad sitting on the window fell asleep and fell to his death, Paul stopped, healed the boy in Jesus , came back in the house and taught until sun up.
Urgency, it is lacking. Most are OK with a fast devotional.
I understand we live in busy, complicated days, but we can still, if we are hungry enough, tarry with the lord, can we not tarry in prayer, the word, hearing of the word?
three verses came to me it says;
Luk 4:40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
Luk 4:41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.
Luk 4:42 And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.
An all night time frame, Paul an all night time frame. In the start of the Church we read and they went from house to house daily to break bread and hear the doctrine of the Apostles. What happened?
Distractions, life, making money, hanging on, end times, information overload, worry, carnality, fear, what happened. N.T. passion is missing may this change to day beloved.
Now what the you tube person posted to this sermon, and if you can listen to 1:33 min of truth.
"Without holiness, no one shall see the Lord. Jesus didn't die to save us from Hell. That's a fringe benefit! He died to get total occupation of us. To be holy in speech...in actions...in everything. We want to give God our lousy sins. What do you think He does with them? He wants your will...He wants that career of yours...He wants that selfish heart not to live in selfishness."
"I doubt that more than two percent of professing Christians in the
United States are truly born again."
"How can you pull down strongholds of Satan if you don't even have the strength to turn off your TV?"
"The early church was married to poverty, prisons and persecutions. Today, the church is married to prosperity, personality, and popularity."
"If weak in prayer, we are weak everywhere."
"A man who is intimate with God will never be intimidated by men."
"No man -- I don't care how colossal his intellect -- No man is greater than his prayer life."
"Better for you to have one sleepless night on earth than millions in hell."
"Are the things you are living for worth Christ dying for?"
"A sinning man stops praying, a praying man stops sinning."
"Entertainment is the devil's substitute for joy"
"If you're going to be a true Christian, I'll tell you one thing amongst others: it'll be a lonely life. It's a narrow way and it becomes narrower and narrower and narrower."
"The sinner's prayer has sent more people to Hell than all the bars in America."
"My main ambition in life is to be on the Devil's most wanted list."
