Trusting In The Lord When You Are In A Post Christian Era

2Ch 16:8  Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because thou didst rely on the LORD, he delivered them into thine hand.

2Ch 16:9  For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

2Ch 16:10  Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people the same time.

This is a message with a few messages in it.

1. We read of past, great victory of ASA, when he relied on the lord, even when he was out numbered.

The lord can, and will, be strong on our behalf, all that is required of us, is we trust him 100% an not our-self, nor go in a treaty with evil, non- believers for protection, ASA did this out of fear, he did not trust in the lord and rebelled. Beloved, it does not have to be that way, we are never to make a treaty with non believers for our safety( I see this happening with many who fear Trump and will cross lines out of fear- I read one person in the Senate this was leaked, the person was afraid to come against Prez Trump, because Trump can destroy him with one tweet, yes one tweet and now that person is in compromise) The lord sees all, and looks all over the world for those who will dare trust him completely.

We are in a real spiritual crises in the world, it is- a Post Christian era we are now in, if you cave in now, you will cave in later.

Vs 9;

2Ch 16:9  For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.....

Understand the word perfect does not mean what it does in modern English, if this were the case, none of us would qualify.

The Hebrew Word or perfect is much like the Greek;

From H7999; complete (literally or figuratively); especially friendly. (shalem used by mistake for a name.): - full, just, made ready, peaceable, perfect (-ed), quiet, Shalem [by mistake for a name], whole.

The root word brings out a whole new thought:

BDB Definition:
1) to be in a covenant of peace, be at peace
1a) (Qal)
1a1) to be at peace
1a2) peaceful one (participle)
1b) (Pual) one in covenant of peace (participle)
1c) (Hiphil)
1c1) to make peace with
1c2) to cause to be at peace
1d) (Hophal) to live in peace
2) to be complete, be sound
2a) (Qal)
2a1) to be complete, be finished, be ended
2a2) to be sound, be uninjured

Basically, peace.

We are complete, in Jesus by peace, you can not be at peace and be in worry or fear, or that would not be peace. In the N.T. Jesus is our peace, he broke down the wall of division that separated us from the lord. He made it possible to go into the holy of holies by his blood, yes Jesus is our peace, that still breaks down every wall.

The lord searches the whole earth to find the ones in peace, in trust, and he looks for a reason, to show himself strong on our behalf, that is shouting words. The lord wants to show himself strong, he wants to have our trust, so our faith will allow him to be powerful on our behalf. No matter how out numbered we may feel, we must come to the place where we understand we are not out numbered. Remember The Chariots of fire, there are more with us than with the large army that out numbers us.

2. What might have been. ASA or (USA) LOL, started out with faith, but he changed, and it cost him. Let us  never be one that will be said of, what might have been.

3. The cost of speaking truth. The seer, did not say this to a priest, but the king. Jesus said we would stand before kings and magistrates, so we can say, sorry sir, but you are not God.

What is this crime the seer said, in a nut shell, he just said, King ASA, you started out so good, so full of trust and faith in the lord, what happened. It cut ASA to the core, as it does men today when you say, you are not what you were.

To jail the man of the lord went, ASA than did more evil against the people. Evil begets evil. The rest of ASA's life was spent in warfare. It did not have to be this way if he was humble enough to receive the rebuke and correction. What a different King, than King David, he took the rebuke of Nathan and took action, he was not perfect, he was repentant, a man after Gods own heart, that's you reader, not perfect, but if you let the lord, by his word, his voice, and his servants cut like a knife, and take action when convicted, you will always walk in the power of the lord no matter how out numbered you may seem.

Lastly, think and meditate on the Hebrew wording for, he shall show himself strong, get this in you, it is what the lord wants to do for you today.
