Not Seeing Judas, But The Father

That is a great opening title, F.B Meyer not me, as you will read, but what the message I have for you from this

Joh 18:6 As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.

John 18:1-11

Jesus Accepts His Suffering

Our Lord went forth from the city and across the brook Cedron to Gethsemane, but not for the purpose of concealment, as Joh_18:2 clearly shows. How characteristic it was that He should meet the band and ask that He should be taken, while the disciples should be permitted to escape! Was not this what He was ever doing-meeting peril, temptation, and death, that the great company whom He was bringing to glory might be saved? What meekness and majesty are here! Meekness-that He should subject Himself to the binding thong; majesty-that He should be able to use the unspeakable name of God-I AM, for the word “He”is not in the Greek.

The cup probably referred to the anguish caused to His holy nature in being numbered with the transgressors, and bearing the sin of many. There was much in it from which His spirit recoiled, but He chose to do the will of God, however the flesh might start and shrink. Let us ever take the cups of life’s pain and sorrow direct from the hand of God, not seeing Judas, but the Father.

John 18:6

As soon then as he said unto them, I am He, they went backward — recoiled.
and fell to the ground — struck down by a power such as that which smote Saul of Tarsus and his companions to the earth (Act_26:14). It was the glorious effulgence of the majesty of Christ which overpowered them. “This, occurring before His surrender, would show His power over His enemies, and so the freedom with which He gave Himself up”

In our text we see the power of our lord, the message is , the power of the lord manifested when we see Jesus, and are filled with the spirit, and not looking at any Judas in our life.

We have all faced Judas, someone hurt you, turned on you, spoke lies, evil about you. Key, Forgive, than move on to see and know the power of the lord. The Judas is there to obstruct your view, to get you sidetracking, in a bitter spirit, when this happens a foot hold is given to the Devil, that is why Judas is in your face.

Abrasive people, build in us Christ like character.

Let Judas be, you know he, her, it, is there, you know the land is filled with Gross Darkness. This spirit of Judas is why the lord said in the last days;

Mat 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Mat 10:21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.

Mat 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Jesus told us the Spirit of Judas would be all over in the end times. We were told well in advance. This is bible prophecy, yes, the Judas in your life is bible prophecy, it is also the way life is. No matter what, take your eyes of Judas, and fix your gaze on Jesus.

Reader, if you do this simple thing, you will see 'The Great I Am' moving in your life in power as never before. If you do this, you will see the manifest presence of Jesus Christ in a way you may have not.

So, where are you looking today? At Jesus, or Judas?
