Happy St Pats Day. I have a word for you reader, I pray it speaks to many.
Luk 18:39 And they that went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace but he cried out the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.
Luk 18:40 And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,
Luk 18:41 What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.
Luk 18:42 And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath made thee whole.
Luk 18:43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.
the Reward of Faith
Our Lord knew what was awaiting Him. He laid down His life “of Himself.” But all the significance of His life and death was concealed from the Apostles and others. Their eyes were blinded, till the glory of the Resurrection morning had dawned and the day of Pentecost had fully come.
Our Lord’s mind must have been filled with the anticipation of the momentous issues to be decided; but He was sufficiently at leisure from Himself to hear the cry of distress from this blind beggar. How absolutely He placed Himself at the disposal of those who needed His help! Human need and sorrow always commanded Him. Each comer was able to draw all the grace he required, according to the measure of the bucket of his faith when let down into that infinite well. There is no reason why each of us should not be made whole and follow Christ, glorifying Him. But we are blind!
Heb 11:6 and without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing unto him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that seek after him.
Faith, it is an essential in our Christian walk, it keeps us at peace, and expectation of good from our Good God we serve, He is a re-warder, we may not see the reward till we reach glory, there is no promise of worldly riches, no pain, all prayer answered with a resounding yes, and would you like some french fries with that.
Many have made the lord a sugar daddy, he is lord, we serve Him, he is not serving us all we deserve, if he did, I doubt many would still be saved.
Jas 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, neither shadow that is cast by turning.
Jas 2:1 My brethren, hold not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
Jas 2:2 For if there come into your synagogue a man with a gold ring, in fine clothing, and there come in also a poor man in vile clothing;
Jas 2:3 and ye have regard to him that weareth the fine clothing, and say, Sit thou here in a good place; and ye say to the poor man, Stand thou there, or sit under my footstool;
Jas 2:4 Do ye not make distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?
Jas 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren; did not God choose them that are poor as to the world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to them that love him?
Jas 2:6 But ye have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you, and themselves drag you before the judgment-seats?
Jas 4:1 Whence come wars and whence come fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your pleasures that war in your members?
Jas 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and covet, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war; ye have not, because ye ask not.
Jas 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may spend it in your pleasures.
It is said, that the epistle of James is the book of Proverbs in the N.T. With the verses I just gave we can clearly see that.
We have not, because we ask not, but we also do not have because we ask wrongly, for things to consume on ourselves and not ministry, not others. If we always got all we asked for, reader, we would never grow, we are buffeted, chastised, disciplined as Children of God, but we are also rewarded, expectation is hope, we hope for what we do not yet see. I have expectation, even in these days, I am walking in faith, and seeking the lord for things, but for ministry. The home front, yes, but ministry, if we pray the lords will 1Jn teaches we will have our prayer answered, that is the key, in receiving, and having prayers for things answered, it must be the will of God, we learn what the lords will is, by reading the bible, we can not contradict the word, we must pray the word, and wait in faith.
