When we say we are saved, what we mean is that we are Christians, we are willing admitting a Belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. But ask people why they believe they are saved and you will receive a mixed bag of answers. And i would have to think that most of the answers in that mixed bag would have to do with a answer pertaining to something that the saved individual has done to show or to prove that they are saved. But doing something does not make a person saved, there is nothing that you could do...alongside from willing accepting Jesus Christ as the Son of God, your and my Savior, and knowing that He has taken our penalty for our sin, and our condemnation on the Cross, at Calvary. And by doing so, by taking and serving out our sentence, for the sin and pain and wrongdoing for all sin, and yet that sin that is still yet to come. By this, and this only is one saved. It is this Faith in this Belief that makes a person saved, not by any works that any man could ever do. Remember we are Saved by Faith plus nothing, also works does not produce Faith, it is Faith that produces Works. !!!!!!!
Now is the question will be asked, and also the answer provided, and provided as always by the Bible, which we know to be the Word of God. So the question is...what exactly is Faith? is answer is given within the Scriptures, in the Bible, as we read (Hebrews Chapter 11 Verse 1 English Standard Version) "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” So Faith alone is a assurance or promise of things to come, and these things which are hoped for, yet given by that which is not seen. We have Faith in God, in Jesus Christ for that things which are hoped for, but not seen. We do not need to see by any means to prove to us anything, and that because our Faith in Him comforts in and with His assurance of things to come, Amen. What a Great God we have to know that all we have to do is Believe, and on those things not seen by is, and this because we are sure that by Him it will be given. But do we need this Faith to have fellowship with God ?
Yes we do, and at all times, now we may stumble at times in our Christian walk, but we repent, we confess and we get back up, never forsaking our God. Is there Biblical prove that we need Faith? Yes and the Bible gives us this answer in (Hebrews Chapter 11 Verse 6 English Standard Version) “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” Faith is so strong through Jesus Christ, that we even see that it is proclaimed throughout the world. We know this because even today we hear of God given human spoken willing testimonies that tell us the Belief of God. Consider Egypt, which is a very prominent Muslim area, we still hear of Christian testimonies there. Also Africa, we we see has a very large Muslim base, has very outspoken Christian belief. And we still notice that even in the very hard hit areas like China, who has Christian testimonies and belief there, when under extreme persecution as they are, the Church does not fail, on the contrary it grows. But does the Bible speak of Faith in the world? Yes, as we read in (Romans Chapter 1 Verse 8 English Standard Version) “First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world.”
But what about proof, as the old saying says “proof is in the pudding” We as humans need to know that this is true, and that besides having another human telling you so. So how do we know that we are Saved by Faith plus nothing? Does the Bible tell us, because we know that the Bible is the Word of God, and that being our proof. Yes the Bible tells us this in (Ephesians Chapter 2 Verses 8 And 9 English Standard Version) “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” How do we know without a doubt that if we try to do “works” that we will not be saved? What if I save a baby from a disaster or help a little old lady? Wont this make me saved? The answer is no, and the Bible says this, any on that day of Judgment the Lord will have much to say to those who believe that works makes you saved. The Bible gives us the answer in (Matthew Chapter 7 Verses 21 Through 23 English Standard Version) "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.”
You see we can work all we want, but we are only saved by Faith. This we must remember, that through our Faith in God that the Gospel bear Fruit and increases, this we read in (Colossians Chapter 1 Verses 3 Through 6 English Standard Version) “We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel, which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and increasing—as it also does among you, since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth.”
Is it truly possible to have this Faith? Yes, we have seen and heard the testimonies of others that prove this, but does the Bible tell us? Yes, and what does it say? We look to (Philippians Chapter 4 Verse 13 King James Version) “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Remember that Faith grows in you through the One that gives it, and that One is Jesus Christ. Let now the Faith of Jesus grow within you, allowing it to reach maturity and it is at this point that it will bear Fruit, and this not only for you.......but for others also. With Jesus, through Jesus, for Jesus, by Grace through Faith...plus nothing. Our Great Father in Heaven, let your Words be a Light to the path, and a lamp to the feet of those who move along your Christian walk, help us not to turn to the left or the right, but to keep on the path of the Lord, till the day of Redemption is at hand. (Psalm Chapter 119 Verse 105) “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Proverbs Chapter 4 Verse 27) “Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.”
