The King and The Prophet Cried Out

2Ch 32:1 After these things, and this faithfulness, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fortified cities, and thought to win them for himself.

2Ch 32:2 And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib was come, and that he was purposed to fight against Jerusalem,

2Ch 32:3 he took counsel with his princes and his mighty men to stop the waters of the fountains which were without the city; and they helped him.

2Ch 32:4 So there was gathered much people together, and they stopped all the fountains, and the brook that flowed through the midst of the land, saying, Why should the kings of Assyria come, and find much water?

2Ch 32:5 And he took courage, and built up all the wall that was broken down, and raised it up to the towers, and the other wall without, and strengthened Millo in the city of David, and made weapons and shields in abundance.

2Ch 32:6 And he set captains of war over the people, and gathered them together to him in the broad place at the gate of the city, and spake comfortably to them, saying,

2Ch 32:7 Be strong and of good courage, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him; for there is a greater with us than with him:

2Ch 32:8 with him is an arm of flesh; but with us is Jehovah our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

2Ch 32:9 After this did Sennacherib king of Assyria send his servants to Jerusalem, (now he was before Lachish, and all his power with him,) unto Hezekiah king of Judah, and unto all Judah that were at Jerusalem, saying,

2Ch 32:10 Thus saith Sennacherib king of Assyria, Whereon do ye trust, that ye abide the siege in Jerusalem?

2Ch 32:11 Doth not Hezekiah persuade you, to give you over to die by famine and by thirst, saying, Jehovah our God will deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?

2Ch 32:12 Hath not the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall worship before one altar, and upon it shall ye burn incense?

2Ch 32:13 Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of the lands in any wise able to deliver their land out of my hand?

2Ch 32:14 Who was there among all the gods of those nations which my fathers utterly destroyed, that could deliver his people out of my hand, that your God should be able to deliver you out of my hand?

2Ch 32:15 Now therefore let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you after this manner, neither believe ye him; for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of my hand, and out of the hand of my fathers: how much less shall your God deliver you out of my hand?

2Ch 32:16 And his servants spake yet more against Jehovah God, and against his servant Hezekiah.

2Ch 32:17 He wrote also letters, to rail on Jehovah, the God of Israel, and to speak against him, saying, As the gods of the nations of the lands, which have not delivered their people out of my hand, so shall not the God of Hezekiah deliver his people out of my hand.

2Ch 32:18 And they cried with a loud voice in the Jews' language unto the people of Jerusalem that were on the wall, to affright them, and to trouble them; that they might take the city.

2Ch 32:19 And they spake of the God of Jerusalem, as of the gods of the peoples of the earth, which are the work of men's hands.

2Ch 32:20 And Hezekiah the king, and Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz, prayed because of this, and cried to heaven.

In verse 7 Hezekiah quoted what Elisha said.

2Ki 6:15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, a host with horses and chariots was round about the city. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?

2Ki 6:16 And he answered, Fear not; for they that are with us are more than they that are with them.

2Ki 6:17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Jehovah, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And Jehovah opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

This is a message of victory in our lord, the battle is the lords not ours, we are engaged in Spiritual battle it seems daily now. The devil knows his time is short. That is from Revelations and has not happened yet, but a dual truth.

The fact many in the fear index, a real poll was taken, around 80% of Americans said they fear an economic collapse, or a economic problem coming.

The body of Christ is to fear nothing, we are to face head to head with our giants and not run or avoid this battle. The battle that is the greatest is the battle against our flesh, thus we must die daily and be renewed daily.

There are times when all we need to do is stand still in praise , worship, the word, faith , that the lord will take out the problem.
There are times when the lord allows us to suffer and face insurmountable odds, this is to help our eyes open so we too can see in the angelic host around us, Chariots of Fire.

The King and The Prophet wept, cried out to God.

2Ch 32:20 And Hezekiah the king, and Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz, prayed because of this, and cried to heaven.

Prayer and crying out to the only one that could take down this huge army, the battle was to strong for them, today we face things tat are far beyond us, these are the times the lord comes and in power gives us courage to face the seen and un seen power of the enemy.

The lord allows us to face battles, he teaches our hands for warfare. In the N.T. it is very different, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but the pulling down of strong holds. The lord keeps his beloved in the protected ring of fire, to enter that center we must go through some fire to get to the place of rest, faith, and safety in the lords holy ring of fire.

We will pass though the waters and not drown, we pass through the fire and come out without even the small of smoke. We must come to grips painless Christianity is a false Gospel. We must all come to the place that we are ready to let go of all to fully follow the lord. This takes courage and no fear, this is not always easy. It can be done by many, many hardships, battles, weakness, in the end if we remain one of HIS, we have the victory.

Are you in a battle that seems to strong for you?Pray, cry out to the lord, our lord hears every prayer like this, many times we see nothing, but this is a call to stay steady, firm, a wall strong and powerful.

I can not tell you of late how many Christians have illness, pains .I read endless amounts of Christians suffering today. There seems to be no way out and no end in sight, but there is a end and it will be soon.

Once we get it in our spirit and heads we are one of his, we will be spiral cripples and not spiritual victors. This is a mind game the enemy always plays.

In our text we read just that, idle, but true threats, we can not close our eyes, hide, run, we are to run only to our lord in prayer. Face your giant today, it may be illness, a feeling of defeat, fear of what we see going on in the world. We are built on solid ground, the rock of Christ, storms come and batter the house, but it stands and will stand no matter what comes our way, we have the bible truth on this.

Fear not, face your fears, kill the flesh, and all in the end will be well.
