Message 2,400 Feed My Sheep Series-What Is Biblical success-The Lord Is With You

Note, This was the message I sent Han 2018 to the free bible college monthly.

Jdg 1:22 And the house of Joseph, they also went up against Bethel: and the LORD was with them.

And the Lord was with them; the Word of the Lord, as the Targum, directing, assisting, and succeeding them in their attempt.

On Directing;

Reader, the number one thing I read and hear from people is on needing direction. So few feel they have any true direction why? The direction being prayed for is a thing of self, a self plan, a desire that is not Gods will, maybe it is not time to know, confusion from distractions, keeping the seeker far away from the source of direction the lord, his word, and prayer.

We read,” The steps of a righteous man are ordered of the lord'
The blood of Jesus in the New Covenant , he is our righteousness, we have none in ourselves, it is all the lords doing. In Eph ch 6 the armor of God, one part is the breast plate of righteousness.

So, we must understand the word righteous as taught in the N.T.-lets take a look at this word first.

From G1349; equitable (in character or act); by implication innocent, holy (absolutely or relatively): - just, meet, right (-eous).

Probably from G1166; right (as self evident), that is, justice (the principle, a decision, or its execution): - judgment, punish, vengeance.

RIGHTEOUS, a. ri'chus.

1. Just; accordant to the divine law. Applied to persons, it denotes one who is holy in heart, and observant of the divine commands in practice; as a righteous man. Applied to things, it denotes consonant to the divine will or to justice; as a righteous act. It is used chiefly in theology, and applied to God, to his testimonies and to his saints.

The righteous, in Scripture, denote the servants of God, the saints, notice it is applied to God himself

2. Just; equitable; merited.

Christian righteousness today is even more insistent upon material things, such as sanitary arrangements, than was the Code of Moses. The obligation to use the latest knowledge for the hygienic welfare is just as binding now as then, but “the latest knowledge” is a changing term. Material progress, education, spiritual instruction, are all influences which really make for full life.

1Ti 1:9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

We are made the righteousness of Christ, this is closely related to the word, justified.
In Christ, we are complete. It is up to the bond servant to press in, to pray, to avoid sin, to walk in a pure heart, we co-operate with the lords help, the helper is the Holy Spirit.

The three words above, in the N.T., all come to us by the Holy Spirit.

There is no good thing in our flesh, but we are to die daily. It is progressive sanctification, but absolute righteousness and Justification once we become born again, its all the lord, we are to maintain these, guard them, and again by the lord, prayer, study, and faith that works.

The next word is: Assisting
Who assists us, the Holy Spirit and Angels, not worship of angels or praying to them, they are sent for our protection and anything the lord would have them do. We as humans are to assists others, it can be hard ,but we must.

Webster on Assist;
ASSIST', v.t. [L. assisto, of ad and sisto, to stand up; English, to stand by.]

To help; to aid; to succor; to give support to in some undertaking or effort, or in time of distress.

ASSIST', v.i. To lend aid.

The N.T. Saints , Jew and Gentile have the N.T. Truth and promise on being given, divine assistance. Remember, Paul said to the Jew first and next the gentile, this was said concerning the promise and tribulation, Jacobs trouble.

The last word is-Succeeding

Many people I have talked to say they will succeed and have the lords favor concerning a thing, most of what they say is becoming like a TV minister, being a big name, and doing big things, and living in prosperity.

In the Bible college, I have had the chance to meet many ministers and mentor many. I can not tell you over the years how many times I have been asked for help, insight, concerning something the person wanted to do, and most was of the flesh. How do you give advice, or help to anyone that you know are trying to say it, claim it, and be a big something? I can not, will not, dare not.

The holy Spirit never lifts up a person, never exults a human, and no pampering of the flesh, never , if that is you, if you are reading this because you want to be a success, as the world offers, you are on the wrong path.

Success in the NT is a lot different from what man is teaching.

Jesus made this clear in the N.T.

Mat 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Luk 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Luk 10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

What made the disciples rejoice, they cast out devils, people were healed, but Jesus said what is important. Not the miracles, not authority over devils, but the main reason to rejoice is their names were written in the book of life-Salvation.

We are a success when we do the will of the father, not finish, or complete a work of the flesh, reach a goal, it's balance, it is all about salvation, Jesus, and eternal life.

Luk 17:10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

That verse should keep every Christian grounded, it wars against pride. Many say, I did this, I am doing this, I did, I did, I did, but wait, after you did this and that, the end of the mater is, we are no more then unprofitable servants, we are just doing what we are told. Only in Glory will we be rewarded with a crown, and after that the bible says, we cast our crown at Jesus Feet.

This is the attitude all of the body of Christ must have today, simply obey, and if some success comes, cast it all at our masters feet.

I want to end with this word.

If you are nothing without a degree, you will be nothing with one.

We are all sinners saved by grace, my message is not to say meekness, and humility is a character that makes you weak, just the opposite. Are you like a dead lion.

Some are going through so many things, I get emails that would blow your mind , I get calls from people who are at wits end. It is not time to give up, nor live like a dead lion, our lord Jesus is the living Lion of the tribe of Judah.

In 2018, no matter how hard , no matter how many things you face, you are not dead, if you were, you would not be reading this, that means there is hope for you.

ECC 9:4 'a living dog is better than a dead lion'

You may feel like a dog, a worm, a nothing, in Jesus you have all things. The word for 2018 to you beloved is humble boldness. Be bold as a lion, as the bible says, meek as a dove, but bold as a lion.

Many lions of the past are dead, you however are alive, be fully alive in this world turned upside down today, let this year put a new fervent faith and desire in you and no longer hold on to the past.

I have had my lions, they were worries, concerns, needs, lack etc., as I look back on 2017, I see many of those dreaded lions are dead and I did not even know it.

I ask, do you know it, I mean do you know those lions are dead or will be soon? It will bring true Christian success in all you do, and when you encounter a lion, remember by the power of our lord, soon, one day, that lion will be dead, you will stand in victory, even if you feel like a little dog.

Knowing is success, and I pray now you know what real success is.
