Mat_5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
Mat_5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Meaning of indifference;
Lack of interest, concern, or sympathy. unimportance
My last message was on tabernacles and Marriage.
I feel the lord saying, post this word it is simple , but important.
It is not just on marriage, it covers all relationships.
I have come to learn that as bad as hate is towards someone esp, someone close is indifference. The meaning says it all. When you say I hate you, we do not mean it most of the time, harsh words and judging others is easy. Hate can be dealt with, but indifference? It is often unspoken, it is a falling away from love and harboring feelings like, I simply do not care, I lost my sympathy, my interest in what may interest another, making the person unimportant.
Think on that, someone you are now cold towards, they rubbed you the wrong way, said something bad, hurtful, or just a misunderstanding.
Beloved, how many of you are in this place? I see it everywhere. The Proverbs says , “A brother offended is harder to win back than a walled city” Now true this is.
I want to touch on two words, sympathy, and concern.
Our nation is so divided it is hard to meet someone who has any care at all about you. Friends grow cold, co-workers , a spouse, a close friend.
In the last days men's hearts shall become cold-(Towards others), even fellow Christians.
Have you lost sympathy for someone?
Have you given up all concern for someone?
Beloved we must not just let this be as it is.
We can not make peace with all men, but we must try. The wound of affliction is healed by our lord, and outward attempts to make a relationship right.
The lord will help us, but many times we must swallow our pride and make a call, a visit something, anything to make things right.
Hate is easier to deal with. It may sound a tad crazy, but I do find this to be a truth.
Indifference... it can do bad things in your heart, quench your spirit, cut off your intimacy with Jesus.
Have you had a bought with a Judas? Jesus did, he loved them all even Judas, but Judas will be in hell.
Look I understand we are in hard, crazy, cold heart-ed days, but we should strive to live the different life, one of peace, joy, love, faith, Patience. Not easy, but if the bible says we are to live that way, it means we can, by Gods grace and our action.
Someone needs to repent of this issue today, it will eat you alive and kill that relationship.
So beloved that is the word to you, what will you do? What will you do?
